Accessibility Statement

At Place of the Goddess, we want your stay to be as relaxing and magical as possible. Part of that means ensuring our home is the right fit for your specific needs before you arrive.

Because our gîte is set within an older, traditional building of character, it has some architectural quirks that we love, but we recognise they may present challenges for some of our guests.

What to Expect During Your Stay:

  • Ground floor: This consists of the entrance hall and games room. Access to the main living accommodation is via the staircase.

  • Moving Around: The first floor has a single step transition to the kitchen and the summer room (additional 3-step transition from staircase into summer room). The main living room has a traditional wooden floor with a small slope into ‘stage Right’ and ‘Stage Left’ bedrooms. ‘The Gods’ bedroom and bathroom are accessed via a further staircase.

  • Bathrooms: Our bathrooms are designed for comfort and luxury, but please note they do not currently feature grab rails or roll-in shower access.

  • Floors: Some of our floors are slightly uneven – a reflection of the great age and character of the house.

We Are Here to Help
If you have any questions about the layout, or if you’d like us to take specific measurements of doorways or stairs to give you peace of mind, please just ask. We want you to feel completely at home here.
